Fellow one handed gamers, today is an exciting day! We finally release version 1.0.0 of the Cat Girl Expansion game into the wilds. 😼

In this update we finally added voice lines to the game. 23 of them can be heard in the demo. They unlock gradually as you progress through the game. The more spicy ones can only be heard once you reach far enough in the full version of the game.

We struggled for quite a while to find a way to create the voice lines. While we have a girl in our team, she didn’t feel comfortable to do the voice lines herself. Another option we looked into was to commission someone on fiverr, but none of the existing listings were quite what we were looking for. Next we tried to generate the voice lines using the Elevenlabs text to speech AI but the voices all sounded very boring and bland.

Then, 5 days ago, a new text to speech model was released. It’s called dia by nari-labs. It was a bit of a struggle to get it up and running, but it is so much better than Elevenlabs! It’s still far from perfect but mixed with the music it sounds pretty good in our opinion. Please let us know what you think. Does the voice sound good enough for your taste?
